WOW! That word is, effectively, the only way to describe Natalia’s big moment. Natalia of Chupacabra Tsunami exhibited pure athleticism in the course of the play. While trailing in the top half of the 5th inning, Natalia made a leaping cross-body, over the shoulder catch in right field which seemingly defied the laws of physics in the process.
The catch was definitely enough to drop the jaws of all witnesses to the scene. For stunning everyone with potentially the catch of the season, Natalia is our player of the week. Congratulations!
Danae had a storm a brewin! Tsunami was roaring all night, ebb and flow with the score through the final 2 innings.
Danae was doing her thing making plays on defense and offense. Add in the positive mojo and helping with the bats, she had a fantastic game scoring her Player of the Week!
Carr of Brew Jays was showing his athletic ability all game long. Anything hit to left field, Carr was all over it to make the play, and do his best to keep his team in the game. A play that stood out was in the bottom of the 4th when Carr made a sliding catch into the fence to catch a ball deep in foul territory. He proceeded to pop up and put the ball on a rope to the third baseman to prevent the tag and runner scoring. For his impressive performance all game long, Carr is our Player of the Week!
Justin was a true X-factor at short stop in his game this week. Proving the old adage that some people just have “it,” Justin was on another level all night. Time after time, Justin outran, outjumped, and outperformed the competition, which paved the way for a team victory over Brew Jays in their late night double header. For gracing all in attendance with his natural athletic ability, Justin is our Player of the Week. Congratulations!
If you stopped by Farragut Park this past Thursday, you might have thought Derek Jeter came out of retirement to play some softball with Underdog. However, you'd just be watching Ryan from I'd Hit That which is an easy mistake to make by the way he was playing. Throughout the entire game, Ryan was making play after play at short stop and also getting it done at the plate. What really got a roar out of everyone in attendance was when Ryan made a backhanded grab and mimicked the famous Jeter leaping-throw to get the runner at first to end the inning and put a stop to Diamond Dogs' comeback hopes. For his impressive play all around, Ryan is our Player of the Week!
Thursday night at Farragut Park was full of web gems all night. However, Janette takes the cake for best catch of the night. If we were able to have a camera crew on the field, we'd be watching this catch on ESPN Top 10! During the middle of the third inning with runners on second and third, a deep fly ball was hit right at the foul line. Sprinting threw the outfield, Janette fully extended making the diving catch to end the inning and save two runs from scoring for her team to keep the lead. For the amazing catch and effort, Janette is our Player of the Week!
I’d hit that too! Lots of good pitches thrown tonight and followed up by nice hits. The team didn’t quit playing through the ups and downs.
Tara was making plays at 3rd with the glove and arm. Diving, hustling and catching or stopping almost everything her way. Adding some hits and runs it was a good game. Congrats, Tara on being this week's POTW!
