Man of the hour! Gary is a full on volleyball fanatic, playing multiple nights a week. Gary is also just a killer captain with a team of great players. He is ready to play when he arrives and he delivers. Gary’s got his players back ready to get the ball up at any moment. He’s a player any team would love to have. Keep up the great work Gary!
When it comes to captains Dave knows what he’s doing! He leads by example and does his best to navigate his team to a win. He works hard so his team will follow. When there are questions he is more than willing to ask for help or advice. Congratulations Dave!
On occasion, sports offer a platform for an athlete to transcend the competition and the game played. Such was the case when Brian Bell of G-Unit transcended indoor volleyball, with his explosive performance. G-Unit turned to Brian when they needed a clutch play! For his outstanding performance, Brian Bell is our Player of the Week! Congratulations!
This week things are mixing up, it’s not a player of the week but rather a Team of the Week. That team is Portland Punjabis, congratulations!! They’ve shown the true underdog sportsmanship and teamwork. Portland Punjabis came to Wattles volleyball with a majority of players that have never played or knew basic rules. The change over the weeks is noticeable. They have truly come together as a team and have successfully held up against retuning teams. Portland Punjabis showed off their hard work tonight. During a volley their team was able to pull off a crazy save right on the net and get it over, gaining them the point. They did this several time though out the night. Portland Punjabis puts their all on the court and it shows. Again congratulations to Portland Punjabis for being an awesome team!
In their game against Squatch Squad, Jason had a great game and contributed major points to his team allowing them to take home the win. Jason was a force at the net blocking attacks from left and right.
Good game tonight James! It is always a joy to watch Oops, I Dig It Again. James brings a lot of fun to the court with his teammates but he also has the skills to back him up. On the net he is a beast, constantly blocking and when set James delivers a wicked spike. With his skills and the whole team Oops, I Dig It Again was able to win 2-1 against their opponents and moving to the next round. Congratulations James!
Dang, Lexi! You served up a beautiful game tonight. Constantly setting your teammates a picture perfect ball for a killer spike. Lexi was all over the court, going after the ball to get it back up. With your skills and teammates your truly showed why your not only in the playoffs but went home with the championship. Congratulations Lexi!
