Notes

First Place

Summer Co-Ed Softball at Montavilla Park Sundays

The final Sunday of the season provided the hottest weather and some of the hottest action of the season.

In the semi-final games, both decided by a couple big innings, Hootie and the Ballfish and Falco's Army were able to hold off scrappy teams to win tight games. In Semi-number one, Ballfish's Corey Cooper was able to pitch very well and keep a hard hitting Son's of Pitches team led by Kaitlyn Gillies off the board most of the game. Semi number two also came down to some tough pitching. Eric "Big Timber" Kammerer was able to Keep Erik Stone and the rest of Where My Pitches At? off balance all game.

The finals came down to hitting and Hottie was able to do just a bit more. Led on offense by Jamie Action and Rusty Kjos, Hottie scored early and often. Abe Stoltz and Kat Finn did all they could anchoring Falco's Army on defense but the hits kept coming.

It was a great final Sunday with the four best teams battling it out. Friendships were made and rivalries were re-newed. Should make for an exciting fall and great next summer.

Ballfish Battles Til the End!

In the final and most competitive game of the day Hootie and the Ballfish managed to hold off a scrappy MIM 2011.

Cory Cooper lead the charge from the mound. Cory threw tons of strikes an kept hitters off balance all game resulting in many routine plays for his defense.

On offense Ballfish was lead by Josie Ball. Josie seemed to be in the scoring mix all night. She drove in the base-runners in front of her and got on for the big hitters behind her.

Truly some hot action to end a hot day at Montevillia!
