This week in our Monday night. Westmoreland League we had a championship game for the books! The game took place between the number 1 seed, Meat Sweats and 2-seed, Beautiful Strangers. The Beautiful Strangers were coming off a fantastic 11-8 victory over Probably Gonna Pull a Muscle in the semi-finals and they used that momentum to the fullest. The game was high-scoring and with some fantastics plays with the Meat Sweats hopping out to an early lead. The Strangers however, were able to chip away finally and tie the game in the top of the 7th inning. This sent the game into extra innings in which the Strangers were able to finally get a lead and hold on winning 22-21. This was not without a great effort by the Meat Sweats, who fought valiantly, but Monday truly belonged to the Beautiful Strangers!
On a beautiful October evening, it was a beautiful night for the Beautiful Strangers. Matt Bergio added to this beauty with his performance at the plate. Playing in a pretty tight game, Matt Bergio walked up to the plate and smacked a in-the-park grand slam! A couple innings later an the game still close, it was deja vu for Matt. Another in-the-park grand slam! What a night for Matt and the Beautiful Strangers!
