With the winter season off to a running start its time to crown the first POTW. Fresh off her European Vacation, Carrie rolled not one but 2 100+ point games. And if that does not seem impressive consider the fact that every week for the last 5 seasons Carrie has bet the Big Turkey that she would break 100. There was no bet this time, and she rolls a 103 followed by a 110. Shhh, don't tell her but the Big Turkey figured out a loophole. She was bowling in the European standard. With some quick math (converting euros to dollars and Kilometers to Miles) we figured her actual scores are 47 and 51. In the bar after the evening she was seen grinning ear to ear so I think we should let her hold on to this impressive night for just a little longer. Cheers Carrie!

With a nickname like Starla, we knew this girl would come out fightin', and that she did! While fooling us all with her decidedly demure Deb-like appearance, Starla delivered a true round-house kick to the face with a score of 154 in the second game. Even though we think she might have had a little help from a fellow side-ponytailed teammate, watching her victory dance was enough to make any fellow bowler smile... or seizure. The Turkey thinks this Indy team is certainly one to watch! Great job Starla... er, Kristie!

Ceiling Cat and the Kitten Killers
It's her party, and she'll kick ass if she wants to! While Sylvia was one of two Underdog participants celebrating their birthday's this week, only one of them went on to score a 181 and help her team win their second game. Sylvia missed the first game, but after eating the magical Hollywood Bowl birthday special (tator tots) she led her rag-tag crew of bowlers to victory! And she looked sharp doing it, compliments of new team shirts. Congrats Sylvia, we're glad you could spend your birthday with the Turkey!

L-train (or Lonnie if you prefer to go by his given name) is the official Player of The Week! Way to go champ. L-train bowled a bomb-diggity two game series Thursday and was the proud recipient of both beers and t-shirts. He had to be capped on his second game, bringing his score from a whopping 233 down to 205. If only we could all bowl like Lonnie.

Balls to Spare
He's the captain, so perhaps he gets all the glory, but really this POTW is more like a TOTW (that's TEAM of the Week for those "slow learners" out there). The Turkey loves it when teams take it upon themselves to pick a theme and commit to it: that's true Big Turkey Bowling dedication. The team showed their pride for hailing from the good old U.S. of A. by wearing shirts, hats and bandanas sporting the stars and stripes, not to mention the flags that were waved throughout the night. As American as bowling is already, Balls to Spare just put it up a notch... we've never been so proud to call this land home. Great job team!

Even though he says he could've bowled better in the first game of the playoffs, we here at Big Turkey think he did just fine. Red Bowls and Vodka were so excited to have made it to the playoffs (in stark contrast to their last place finish last season) that was all they could concentrate on. Red Bowls was in it for the right reason: to have some fun, and that makes Big Turkey Bowling a little more fun for everyone!
