Sit on my Base, Strangers Without Candy - Indy #S8
Kuki Moku-Paiva
Kuki is a Tough One, Indeed
Kuki supposedly hadn't pitched in a while, but you could have fooled this umpire. She was locked in, peppering the zone with strikes. When her pitching counterpart, Dino, lined a comebacker off her sternum in the first inning, it looked like she might not be long to toe the rubber. But after a one-inning respite, she was back out there in the top of the third and wound up spinning five more innings, allowing only five runs in total. Way to hang tough and keep your squad in the ball game, Kuki!

Marcel Schaeffer
BeauSox
First game of the night and Beausox came ready. Lineup took some work but they produced every inning moving forward.
Marcel was wearing the tye dye and making plays on first, while adding base hits and rbi’s. Aside from that he was hitting pine comes and having fun. Nice game.
Conner had some great defensive plays throughout the game. There was one play where he caught a ground ball by diving and throwing it to second base to get the runner out. His plays in the field were crucial to Sit On My Base’s victory!

Cory Van Riper-Rose
Dusty Ducks
Cory is the player of the week because he had an amazing game as the pitcher. He didn’t walk a single batter and shutout the opposing team through 5 innings! He pitched all 7 innings and only allowed 3 runs.
Hood rats weren’t out in full force but they still showed up to play. Down a couple players didn’t help the cause but they didn’t quite.
Phoebe was catching a great game while adding some positive mojo. She even cleaned up some trash off the field(!) going above and beyond. Nice game.
Mollie is the player of the week because she got on base a lot and did a great job running the bases. She tagged up on over 3 fly balls throughout the game which led to runs.
Dusty Ducks Outlasts Hood Rats in an Instant Underdog Softball Classic!
7 Lead Changes and great plays galore
It was hot Tuesday at Alberta, and both Dusty Ducks and Hood Rats left it all on the field with the summer league championship on the line. Like two heavyweights in a prizefight, one team threw a punch and the other countered. Back and forth it went, with great plays made on the infield and stellar catches in the outfield.
When Dusty Ducks broke a 9-9 tie with three runs in the top of the 7th, Hood Rats looked to pull off a signature last inning come-from-behind win. After scoring two, they looked poised to put a runner on and bring the winning run to the plate. Phoebe sent a shot into the no-man's land triangle between short, third and left field. Out of nowhere, Aaron swooped in from his position at shortstop dove fully extended, and made a catch of catches to save the day and secure the black Underdog wristbands for Dusty Ducks!
